What an ACA plan actually covers

Every Marketplace plan is required by law to include these ten essential health benefits — no matter which carrier or metal tier you pick.

Doctor visits & preventive care
Emergency & hospital care
Prescription drugs
Maternity & newborn care
Mental health & substance use
Labs, imaging & rehab services
Pediatric dental & vision
No denial for pre-existing conditions

Metal tiers

Bronze, Silver, Gold — what the difference really means

The tier doesn’t change what’s covered. It changes the split between what you pay every month and what you pay when you use care.

Bronze

Lowest monthly premium, highest deductible. Fits healthy people who mostly want protection against a catastrophe.

Silver

Most chosen

The only tier that unlocks cost-sharing reductions if your income qualifies — which often makes it cheaper to use than Bronze.

Gold

Higher premium, much lower deductible and copays. Worth it if you see doctors often or take regular prescriptions.

FAQ

ACA questions we hear every week

Do I need to be a U.S. citizen?

No. Lawfully present immigrants can buy Marketplace coverage and may qualify for subsidies. We’ll review your specific documents with you.

Can I keep my current doctor?

Often yes. Bring us the names of your doctors and we’ll check each plan’s network before you enroll, so there are no surprises in January.

What if I’m self-employed or paid in cash?

That’s very common with our clients. You estimate your expected income for the year, and we help you document it correctly so your subsidy holds up at tax time.

What happens if my income changes mid-year?

Tell us and we update it right away. Reporting the change keeps your subsidy accurate and prevents you from owing money back when you file taxes.

One call tells you your real monthly cost.
